Ya Bao – the wild-growing tea buds
Ya Bao are the tea buds of wild-growing tea, which are plucked in winter.
Taste-wise the tea is between white tea and Pu Erh. It has a very unique flavour. And scent!
Ya Bao, also known as Yabao, matures over time like Pu Erh tea but does not develop this earthy flavour Pu Erh tea is known for.
Your first infusion can also only be 30 seconds. You can infuse this tea several times, always add another 30 seconds to the steeping time.
The more you steep it, the more different and interesting flavour the tea gets.
Please note: these buds are very, very bulky! A “normal” sized bag which we usually use for 100g will only take 30g. If you want to purchase higher quantities (more than 200g), please get in touch with us first, as it might not fit a small parcel because of the size of the packing.
