Green tea originally comes from China and is made from the leaves of Camellia Sinensis. During processing it has undergone only minimal oxidation. Over the last years it has become more and more popular in Europe and of course here on the British Isles.
Green tea has a lot of health benefits which have been scientifically proven. Therefore you will find green tea not only as a beverage but also in dietary supplements, cosmetic products etc.
One basic rule for steeping green tea is never using hot boiling water. If you do this, your tea will taste bitter. A temperature around 70°C is fine for the tea to unfold its flavours.
